No government body, standards authority or industry association in India publishes a ranking of solar brands. BIS registers products against standards and MNRE maintains eligibility lists - neither ranks companies. So any brand describing itself as India's number one is quoting itself. What can be verified is certification, manufacturing, range, warranty and service, and all six checks are below.
Is there an official No.1 solar brand in India?
No. This is worth stating plainly, because the phrase appears on dozens of Indian solar websites, including some very large ones.
- BIS registers specific product models against Indian standards. It is a pass or fail on a model, not a league table.
- ALMM is an eligibility list maintained by MNRE for certain project categories. Being on it means a model qualifies; it does not mean it is ranked first.
- No trade association, testing body or ministry publishes a best-solar-brand ranking.
Any such claim on a company website, including on this one, would be self-issued. So the useful question is not who is number one. It is what you can check for yourself.

Note on check 6: a dealer network is a sales network. Dealers sell; they do not necessarily process warranty claims. Ask specifically who handles a claim, and where.
Check 1 in detail: certification, and why the annexure matters
This is the check that separates real claims from marketing, and almost nobody performs it.
A BIS licence lists named models. A brand saying its panels are BIS certified from 300 W to 700 W is describing a family, and families routinely contain models that are not on the licence. Ask for the annexure. Match your exact model code against it.

A company that makes only one cell technology will recommend that technology for every site, because it has nothing else to sell.
